Power Raking
Custom Lawn Care wants you to take a close look at your lawn. If it has become weaker and thinner over the years, or does not respond to watering and fertilizing, check the thatch build up. If you need to work your way through one or more inches of organic matter to reach the soil, then your grass may have a thatch build up. Thatch is the accumulation of grass clippings, leaves and stems from your turf. As the organic material collects, it provides covering to the soil and helps retain water and fertilizer. When thatch is too thick it inhibits light and oxygen, essential for growth, from getting into the soil. As a result, your lawn slowly dies. The solution is to remove the build up with vigorous raking. This can be accomplished with Power Raking or by hand raking your turf. Always remove the thatch build up when your lawn is in the slow growth stage.
